 A Change (Katy) of Scenery
« Thread Started on Apr 13, 2008, 12:15am »

“One more shot.” The bartender smirked at him and slid a shot glass down the bar. “One more? Do you have plans tonight or something? Three shots isn’t exactly you’re typical quota, Gabriel.” Gabriel quirked his brow at the bartender, “No, I’m just not in the mood for too many drinks tonight.” He downed the last shot quickly and stacked it up on top of the first two. Gabriel reached into the back pocket of his jeans for his wallet and put down a few bills. “See you tomorrow night.” Gabriel stood from his bar stool, swinging the keys to his car around his finger. Just outside the club his car was parked. It was sleek, bright red, and probably the favorite of all the cars he had owned. Unlocking the car, Gabriel slid in and leaned back against the leather seat for a moment. It was late, his favorite time. But he had no idea what he wanted to do. Clubbing and drinking every night was beginning to become monotonous. Gabriel turned his keys and listened to the engine hum before turning on his stereo. A song by Rage Against the Machine came on and he drummed his fingers against the steering wheel to the beat.

A second later, Gabriel was speeding down the deserted streets. Different shades of blue and the occasional orange glow of a street light flashed past in a blur as Gabriel increased the speed of his car. He liked going fast…No, he loved it. He knew he had loved speed as a human, driving his car to its limit. It was practically all he could remember of his human life. Gabriel had finally figured that he’d lost most of his memory in the car crash just before he was turned. He still anxiously wanted to know who had bitten him. Not exactly for revenge, though he had once been a reluctant vampire. But then things started to change, as the fact that he could live forever finally sank in.

Ever since then, Gabriel had done everything he wanted. No matter how dangerous. He was hot headed and was constantly moving, never taking a break. Gabriel kept on driving, ignoring red lights and stop signs. A few times, a car had to screech to a halt as to not crash into him and then loud honks ensued. This only made him chuckle. Soon, he began to slow down a little. He was nearing that camp. Gabriel took a sharp turn and came to a halt on a dirt road just outside the camp. He stepped out, slipping his jacket on. The camp was dark and deserted, for it was only April. Gabriel walked slowly, looking around. He let his feet lead him without thinking.

He passed by the cabins and was soon just at the edge of a forest. Gabriel tilted his head upwards at the trees and then peered into the darkness. He could see fine and began walking along a trail. He listened at everything, picking up even the slightest rustle of noise. Gabriel stopped beneath a large oak tree and leaned against it. He was actually enjoying the silence as opposed to the constant booming music he typically had going on in his apartment or at one of the clubs he went to.

Katy was walking down the camp aimlessly looking around. She watched the moon and stars stand still in the midnight sky. Katy heard a car speeding down to the camps forest. She decided she would go for a look. She made her way past the dark blue watered lake. She watched a few waves crush against the sandy beach. Katy smelled another vampire and she hadn't smelled this vampire ever before. It was an intoxicating scent and she was getting intoxicated. She could tell it was a male and he was a coven vampire like herself. A smile fell upon Katy's face. She walked deeper into the heart of the forest. Looking and sniffing her way to find this unknown vampire to her.

Katy was wearing her favorite green hoodie, her mid length black hair was down tonight, blue jeans and she was wearing some flip flops. She continued looking to find this attracting smell coming from this male vampire. She hadn't met a male vampire yet and this is why she was attracted so soon. She could tell he had to be good looking just by the smell usually ugly or beastly vampires gave off an awful smell like a dead rodent. It wasn't summer yet and she wished it was so that she could wear next to nothing. But usually vampires were cold most of the time. She was rarely warm. Only when she drank blood and that was of animals. Yes, Katy has never drank a humans blood neither another vampires as a matter of fact.

Some vampires would frown upon her since she didn't need to hurt or kill humans but she wasn't an mean vampire. Katy was the nice vampire that would be friends with anyone human or not. She didn't care what her kind thought of her. She was on her own now and no one bothered with her so what did it matter. Katy smelt the air as she was coming closer to the vampire. A grin came upon her face as she could see him leaning against an oak tree. "Hello. And may I ask what is a nice looking vampire like yourself doing out here all alone?" Katy said to the stranger. He was good looking at that too. She sat on a fallen down tree as she looked at the vampire. She found it weird that he was out here all alone and she could smell liquor on his breath. A drinker. Hmmmm.

He smelled her before he heard or saw her. She was a coven vampire like himself…but he had never met her before. Her scent was unfamiliar. Gabriel closed his eyes momentarily to focus more on unknown vampire that was gradually getting closer to him. He could tell that she was attractive, that was for sure. But unfortunately, that was probably the extent of things he could assume. However, the fact that she was obviously curious herself about who he was sparked his own curiosity.

Gabriel ran a hand through his dark blonde hair. It was seldom neat or styled in a certain way. Gabriel preferred to keep it a little tousled, but he did often check that it hadn’t gotten too out of hand. Appearance was probably one of Gabriel’s main priorities. He pulled his jacket closer to him as a cool breeze made the whole forest shift. Sometimes, when he was really cold, he did crave a human’s blood. Gabriel had only drank human blood a few times, back when he was a new born vampire and really just couldn’t control his thirst. He restricted himself to animal blood now….most of the time.

With some vampires, humans were all they preyed on. With others it was only animals. Gabriel was usually content with animal blood. He’d go hunting a couple of nights a week, finding that he liked wolf blood the most from the times he was able to have them. However, sometimes a human was too much to resist. It was either one got on his nerves or got in his way. Gabriel wasn’t easily angered, but if someone pushed the right buttons he could get a little scary. He opened his eyes to look at the girl as she spoke.

“Hey.” He nodded his head in greeting and glanced around at the near silent forest. “Just looking for a change of scenery, that’s all. And yourself?” Gabriel’s eyes followed her as she sat down on a fallen tree and he placed his hands in the pockets of his jacket.

She heard him reply her question. “Just looking for a change of scenery, that’s all. And yourself?” Katy was doing the same but got distracted by his scent. Men always did that to her no matter what the guy was. She was attracted to a lot of guys but he was the first vampire that came across her. "The name is Katy. Kat for short. Whats your name? Same here. I love being in the forest and its easier to hunt here then in someones back yard." Katy said in her sexy tone. She smiled at him and then turned to look at the full moon. How she loved the night time and she didn't mind the morning or afternoon time either.

Katy decided to take off her green hoodie as she laid it down on the leaves that were falling off the trees. She loved autumn time it was so beautiful with all of the colors of the leaves and how the wind would blow through her hair. She took off her flip flops and put them down next to her as her feet played with the fallen leaves on the ground of the forest. She listened as the wind blew and blew her hair in her face. Katy put her hair up. Now her neck was noticeable but her bite mark was a small indent just right below her left ear.

Katy could feel the attraction between the both of them. She smiled kindly at the good looking vampire. "I see you did some drinking before you stopped here to as well." She liked drinking as well it was easy to forget the past but in the morning you'd always waked up know what your past was and she always had flash backs of her past. "My favorite liquor is vodka. Pretty strong stuff. If I do say so myself." Katy smiled as a grin fell upon her face. It took a while for her to get totally wasted.

Katy…Kat for short. He liked her name. As for her statement about hunting in someone’s back yard…he begged to differ. But that was for a different prey than the one he assumed she was speaking of. “Indeed, the woods are easier than dodging around a family barbeque.” Gabriel paused for a moment, taking her in before he actually told her his name. Finally he spoke in a quite voice accompanied by a sultry look, “I’m Gabriel. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Katy.” Gabriel had a thing with women. If he gave them a certain look, a particular smile, and spoke just the right way, he had them. At least it usually worked. There were always those certain girls who were completely immune to any guy. Gabriel often used his little gift to his advantage, especially when he was really thirsty.

He watched her as she removed her sweatshirt and then her flip flops. Gabriel’s gaze immediately fell on her neck and he noticed the small indent just below her left ear. His own bit mark was farther down his neck, near his collar bone and was almost always covered by his shirt or a jacket. It was the only scar on his body and even that was very hard to see. Gabriel looked up at the full moon that was clearly visible in a gap between the trees. The rest of the sky was cloudy, covering up the usually bright stars.

Gabriel smirked at her observation. “That I did. I have a little to drink every night.” Okay, so maybe he had a little more than a little. Gabriel often found himself waking up in his apartment or someone else’s place with little memory of what had happened before. Then he got to waking up and he remembered every small detail about what had happened the night before. Gabriel thought about his favorite drink, he liked a variety of things. There was the fancy stuff, and then the typical things like beer. “I’d have to say I like scotch the best.”

Katy smiled at him and gazed at the moon and stars. "They sure are. Plus the thirst for human blood would be unbearable and very tempting to me even though I haven't drank human blood and I don't plan to anytime soon." Katy wasn't like most vampires. She believed in being a well mannered being and not hurting anyone besides small animals cause she couldn't refuse her hunger for blood. Katy also lived on small animals blood. She really didn't want to be near a human when they would get cut or anything because then the smell of their blood would be too much for her and then she would have to act her impulse. She was scared of her impulse. "Hi Gabriel, it's nice to meet you also. How long have you been here? I've only been here for a few months."

Katy smiled at Gabriel and she looked down at her tank top to make sure no cleavage was showing. She laughed to herself. Katy always seemed to embrass herself in one way or another. She knew he was cocky with his looks and it seemed to her that he thought he had control over women. Well not her, Katy was different from all the rest. She didn't fall for guys or their looks that quick. She giggled to herself and stared down at her barefeet.

Katy noticed that he saw the bite mark below her ear. She wasn't bothered by it a lot of people mostly vampires would see it since she really didn't like turtle necks or sweaters. She looked closely to his neck and could see his bite mark. It was hard to see but she could sense it to be on his neck and it was there. "A little. I smell more than a little liquor on your breathe there sweety. Scotch isn't that bad." Katy laughed when she called him sweety. She hoped he didn't take it the wrong way in any way. She smiled at him showing him her fangs a little. Katy hated having fangs and they would always too sharp to where they would pierce her lips just right to make them bleed. Her fangs scratched against her inner lips and she could taste the blood. "Ouch. Stupid fangs. Sorry about my blood and the smell. I'll try to stop them from bleeding so much." She said in a worried tone.

Gabriel quirked his brow and gave her a curious look. She had never drank human blood before? It must be maddening for her to be around a human if she had never drank human blood before. “Not even when you were a newborn?” Gabriel resisted human blood as often as possible, but not exactly for moral reasons. More logical than moral. If he just fed regularly on any human to cross his path at night then people would begin to notice things. If he was going to feed on a human, he’d make sure that they are people that wouldn’t exactly be missed and that it was in a different place than his last feeding. “I have been here for about…six months now I guess. I tend to lose track of time after a while.”

His gaze never strayed from her as he watched her every movement. Her eyes strayed to her tank top, but Gabriel’s went back to the bit mark just beneath her left ear. It was an interesting spot for a bite, like his at the base of his neck. Gabriel imagined that, after the car accident, his collar bones must have been broken and so that part of his neck was the easiest area to get to. He had never known who bit him nor when exactly he was bitten. For all he knew, after the accident he was hauled off to a hospital and was worked on and everything and after that he was bitten. Gabriel just knew that one minute his car was flipping over several times and he was flung from the driver’s seat, and the next he was on the side of an empty road technically dead.

Gabriel smirked, “Well, it was a little to drink as compared to my typical standards.” He replied. Gabriel had built up his tolerance to alcohol while he was human and being a vampire made it even better. It was those poor kids who just turned 21 who were getting completely wasted because they had never had any alcohol before save a little champagne at a relative’s wedding. Those kids got hammered…though Gabriel looked eighteen he had several fake ID’s to use at regular clubs. Then at the vampire clubs it didn’t really matter seeing as most everyone there was nearly 100.

He went rigid at the sudden copper smell of blood. Gabriel’s eyes darted to her mouth where her fangs at nicked her lip. He took a slow, deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment. Gabriel had just fed about two nights ago, but the smell of fresh blood was something that was alluring to any vampire. Gabriel cleared his throat, “It’s fine…”

"Well I was turned when I was 19 by an ex. So yes I've tasted human blood just haven't since I turned." She laughed to herself. She began thinking about that awful night her ex turned her. She was scared and he turned her into this night creature. Katy hated him and if he were to ever come back to her she would kill him. She smiled at Gabriel. "Wow. Longer then me. How do you like it here? I find it peaceful and quiet. I love it here." Katy got up and was thinking about going for a swim in the lake. The water looked nice and cold. She loved swimming. She gazed up at Gabriel and gave him a grin.

Katy watched him stare at her with his intense beautiful eyes. She wondered what he was thinking since his eyes were upon her and were locked on her. She realized he would look at her bite mark a few times. His bite mark was also in a extraordinary spot on his neck. She wondered how he got his. "How did you get bitten? I mean since you know how I did." Katy said curiously. She was always curious about a lot of things not just about certain bite marks and such. She pulled her tank top up so that her cleavage wasn't showing too much. She knew her cleavage was a huge plus for her but guys seemed to look there than at her face or eyes. Katy would always get pissed off at guys like that. She didn't mind a little staring towards that area but too much was annoying to her.

"Ohhhh. Really. Well theres no such thing as a little drinking. When I drink, I get a little wasted but not too much since I don't know what I'm going to do when I'm gone and drunk as fuck." She laughed as she said the word "fuck." It just came out of her mouth with her not even thinking right. She felt weird swearing infront of him for some reason. Katy swore a lot but around strangers she would usually not do it as much. Katy drank a lot when she was a human and she rarely cared what anyone thought of her but now it was different. Since she had to be careful with humans around. She was around lots of vampires before til she ran into her ex and she had to flee to here in Dark Springs.

"I'm sorry for the blood Gabriel. I always do this. Grrr. Okay it wont stop now. Fucking fangs!" Katy screamed at herself and then laughed. Gabriel probably thought she was a freak now. The blood wasn't stopping and she needed to do something before he did. Maybe he could stop or have ideas. "Do you have any ideas to make my lip stop bleeding?" Katy said in interest of his ability to help her with this problem. She didn't want to attract any other vampires that were here either. The scent of her blood was strong and intoxicating. She knew it was hard for Gabriel to resist her blood.
